E.ON uses the D-U-N-S® numbering system for the unique identification of all suppliers. D-U-N-S® signifies the Data Universal Numbering System, which was developed by Dun & Bradstreet (D&B) in 1962 and is now considered the international standard for the identification of companies through the assignment of a unique nine-digit code. Each code is used only once. The D-U-N-S® number is highly regarded as a unique and worldwide form of company identification, and is recognized and recommended by the United Nations, the European Commission, the German Automobile Association (VDA) and the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). Each company is assigned a D-U-N-S® number from D&B at no cost upon first registration.
